Description

Perfect for beginners, these skewers pack a punch of flavor with minimal effort. They’re juicy, savory, and coated in a mouthwatering garlic parmesan sauce that’s simply irresistible. Perfect for weeknight dinners or backyard BBQs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs chicken tenders (or breast, cut into 3-inch pieces)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for coating)
  • 68 wooden skewers (soaked in water)
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 810 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce (for a mild kick)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Start by soaking wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning. Cut chicken into 3-inch pieces. In a bowl, toss chicken with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  2. Thread the seasoned chicken pieces tightly onto the skewers, leaving no gaps to keep them juicy. Trim the skewers if needed to fit your air fryer or grill. Set aside while you prepare the sauce.
  3. In a small saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add minced garlic, Parmesan, hot sauce, red pepper flakes, and parsley. Stir well. Reserve 1/3 of the sauce for basting during cooking and the rest for after.
  4. Cook skewers in an air fryer at 400°F for 5 minutes. Flip, baste with sauce, and cook for 2 more minutes. Baste again and cook for 5-6 minutes until internal temp hits 165°F. Brush with reserved sauce before serving.

Notes

Use fresh garlic for the best flavor. Grated Parmesan blends better in the sauce. Don’t skip soaking wooden skewers; it prevents them from burning during cooking. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken reaches 165°F for safe and juicy results.
